Just bake your best traditional pie of any kind. (No meat or hand pies.) Bring your pie to the festival before 11am on August 12. Please don't put any identifying markers on your pie. A volunteer will place a number on the bottom of your pie.
Pies are judged on appearance, flavor, and crust. One pie will become The Best Pie in Washington and the baker will receive an enormous rosette ribbon. Rosettes will also be awarded to the top 6 pies, and all bakers will receive a rosette for their entry.
After judging, all pies will be sold by the slice in lieu of charging bakers an entry fee. All proceeds go to GNCR! This is a really fun and exciting part of the festival. People love pie! Please use a disposable pie pan or pick yours up after the sale.
